Little Falls, NY June 4, 2006 - OK Galleries presents THE TROJAN
HORSE - Gift of Epeus, a bronze horse by sculptor Tage Sprague. The exhibition
opens Sunday, June 4th 1:00 PM on the second floor of the factory art
space "Shops at 25 West Mill St. in Historic Canal Place" Little Falls,
NY and continues through June 2006.
A futuristic divination of the classical horse's power and grace, THE
TROJAN HORSE bronze is a pedestal sculpture of breathtaking, mirror-finished
forms into which its audience can view their reflection and contemplate.
A self-taught artist Sprague says art is the expression of spirit, and
as a Saratoga, NY native born to an equestrian family, Sprague deeply
understands the greatness of the horse. "The Trojan horse is not capturable.
No matter the angle you view the horse, the reflected light moving in
the intricacies of the sculpted metal entrances with its ever-changing
forms," says Sprague.
Sprague's commitment to the spiritual intensity of his art is apparent,
for unlike many, Sprague performs all of the phases in the creation of
a bronze sculpture: from clay modeling, mold making and pouring wax, to
casting and finishing high-polished bronze metal.
Sprague and OK Galleries invite the public to celebrate THE TROJAN
HORSE's unveiling with a gallery opening, Sunday June 4th, 1:00-5:00 PM.
Free admission, refreshments, jazz by the Chris Early Trio, and a book
signing by historian A.J. Berry are a few of many events complementing
THE TROJAN HORSE's opening festivity.
OK Galleries is open daily from 10:00-5:00 pm, at the "Shops at
25 West Mill St. in Historic Canal Place" Little Falls, NY.
